I knew Milwaukee Wisconsin was known for a big role in the iron and steel manufacturing factories, then later for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The "old timers" who were Harley riders called their machines "Milwaukee Iron". So with this history, my love of motorcycles and working with metal, I gave the company a name with somewhat of a double meaning, "Milwaukee Iron". I figured if people couldn't relate Milwaukee Iron with motorcycles, then they possibly could relate the name to metal fabrication, which we do also.
Well, it's been 21 years of blood, sweat, and tears (mostly, the later two) and with each major accomplishment the will to succeed still keeps me going.
There have been trials, errors, and just plain bad judgement calls that a lot of the time overwhelmed the day, not to mention myself and those around me. We've stumbled, we've fallen, and we've gotten up and went on as a team. We work humbly among each other helping to lift, drive, and motivate. We remember that this person's bad day today may be mine tomorrow.
All the hard work, maximum effort of determination, and will, have given us victories in accomplishing "wins" we never though possible. It is not me, but in "we" as a team that we are seeing great things happen to "our" Milwaukee Iron. There is a sense of pride when we are successful, when our efforts are noticed, when the whole picture comes into color and each one of us has played our role in getting to this point. We have a ways to go, step by step, day after day we will see the future goals we have set play into a reality and lead us down roads none of us thought we would ever travel. This team will be the leaders for the next team we will work into place, so in time, they can fill out shoes so that Milwaukee Iron can carry on into the future.
I believe that each one of us is waking up each day realizing that with a lot of hard work, patience, dedication, a will so strong to succeed and living each day knowing that "QUITTING" is not an option that we are reaching a point in life where we realize we are living the American Dream. So as I close, remember that standing by your team will reap rewards beyond all expectations, in business as in real life.
See ya soon - Randy.
